Default Strategy Cards or Memorization?

Do you guys print off strategy cards to use, or do you prefer to memorize your strategy before heading to the casino? I imagine that in the long run you need to memorize everything so you can play very quickly, but for new players is it easiest to use a strategy card?

If so, where do you get a strategy card? I know a lot of casinos will provide them for Blackjack players, but I'm not so sure about video poker. I've seen a few websites selling them as well, but they were all for Jacks or Better.

I've played a few tournaments, and if you're in a time limited tournament it is absolutely essential that you have the proper strategy memorized. If you're taking time to look at a strategy card, you really have no chance....

As far as actually finding charts, here's one website that offers a simple (nowhere near perfect) Jacks or Better chart for free: Video Poker -Jacks or Better Strategy - Casino Gambling -

I've only played at online casinos so this hasn't been an issue for me, but do the casinos care if you're sitting there with a strategy chart at the machines?

I've probably watched too much TV but I'd be worried about getting roughed up or thrown out of the casino :P

No, that definitely won't happen. I imagine the casinos would love for you to have the charts, because a new player is probably still making mistakes with the chart but willing to play on because they think they have an advantage.

I bought a few charts from BobDancer.com, but now I basically have everything memorized for most games. The only time I catch myself making a mistake is when I am playing one game for a while, and switch to another one.

For example, when you switch from JoB to Double Bonus you have to remember the small differences in strategy as they'll slightly impact your rate of return. This can be tough because obviously on the surface, the games look and play the same.

Cool, I didn't know Bob had his own site. I just ordered a few of his strategy cards, I've been looking for good cards for games other than JoB. I'll let you guys know how they are.

That is exactly what I've been looking for! I had no idea where to find those cards! And to be honest, I was slightly confused by the ones on this site

Most software tutors provide the ability to learn strategies as you practice. A couple also provide strategies. The ones I know about are wolf video poker (WVP) and video poker for winners (VPW). With these you have the best of both worlds. You can practice and learn to memorize the strategies and you can print out strategies for many, many paytables where strategy cards are not available.

Default Hi Everyone I am new here.

Hi There!

I would like to stop by and say how are you?. I have been trolling this place for a long time now, but have not made a contribution.

I am born in Algiers and enjoy video games like half life and wacky tabaco. I hope to get a lot out of this forum .

Thank you for having me

Marcus
